رشيد الخالدي

أستاذ كرسي إدوارد سعيد للدراسات العربية في جامعة كولومبيا. ورئيس تحرير “Journal of Palestine Studies”.

أستاذ كرسي إدوارد سعيد للدراسات العربية في جامعة كولومبيا. حصل على شهادة البكالوريوس من جامعة ييل في عام 1970، ودكتوراه في الفلسفة من جامعة اكسفورد عام 1974. وهو رئيس تحرير “Journal of Palestine Studies”.

وكان رئيس جمعية دراسات الشرق الأوسط (Middle East Studies Association of North America)، ومستشاراً للوفد الفلسطيني إلى مؤتمر مدريد ومفاوضات واشنطن للسلام العربي ـ الإسرائيلي من تشرين الأول / أكتوبر 1991 حتى حزيران / يونيو 1993.

ألف العديد من الكتب، من بينها: زرع بذور الأزمة: الهيمنة الأميركية والحرب الباردة في الشرق الأوسط (2009)؛ القفص الحديدي: قصة النضال الفلسطيني من أجل الدولة (2006)؛ انبعاث الإمبراطورية: بصمات غربية ومسار أميركا الخطر في الشرق الأوسط (2004)؛ الهوية الفلسطينية: بناء وعي قومي حديث (1997)؛ تحت الحصار: صناعة القرار داخل منظمة التحرير الفلسطينية إبان حرب 1982 (1986)؛ السياسة البريطانية تجاه سوريا وفلسطين، 1906ـ 1914 (1980)؛ فلسطين والخليج (محرر مشارك) (1982)؛ أصول القومية العربية (1991).
