Israeli Settlement in the Golan, 1967-1979

Abstract:

This monograph is a translation from English of the third chapter of a work devoted to a comprehensive study of Israeli settlement activities, including the West Bank, Gaza Strip, Golan Heights, and Sinai Peninsula from 1967-1979. Although IPS does not share the author’s account of the background to Israeli settlement, nor does it share his analysis or conclusions, this part of the study was translated into Arabic for distribution to a limited number of those who are directly concerned with this issue in the Arab world, since it contains a somewhat accurate account of the progress of Israeli settlement activities, the stages through which they have passed, and the demographic changes that have been produced as a result of settlement activity. The work also includes diagrams and tables that document various aspects of settlement in the Golan Heights.
