Abstract: 

This study examines various Israeli economic plans drawn up for the future of the region, as manifested in the publications of research centers and think tanks, and as reflected in the statements of political figures, specifically after the convening of the Madrid peace talks. The book also compares Israeli economic strategy with that of the United States, the European Union, and international monetary institutions, pointing out areas of agreement and disagreement.

Jamil HILAL is a sociologist and author. He wrote a number of books and articles. Following are some titles: "Israel's Economic Strategy for the Middle East", "The Palestinian Political System after Oslo", and "The Formation of the Palestinian Elite". He also has many contributions in Arab and foreign periodicals. He is currently co-editor of "Majallat al-Dirasat al-Filastiniyah".
