The issues this study addresses include: the Israeli military industry and its distribution among various corporations, the role of the military industry in the Israeli economy, the dependence of Israel’s economic and military power on its relationship with the United States, the shared social background and personal relationships that link high-ranking officials in the military, political, and industrial arenas, and Israel’s arms exports since the 1960’s.
Dr. Yoram PERI, an Israeli graduate in sociology and political science from the London School of Economics, is a former adviser to the Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and spokesman of Israel's Labor Party. His publications include The Assassination of Yitzhak Rabin (2000). He is senior lecturer in the Department of Communications at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem.
Ammon NEUBACH, an Israeli economist and graduate of Bar Ilan University, has held several government posts in Israel including Israel's Economic Minister to the U.S. and chief economic adviser to Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres. He is chairman of Telephone Communication Ltd.

Yezid SAYIGH, a graduate of the American University of Beirut and London University, is assistant director of studies at the Center of International Studies, University of Cambridge. He was an adviser to the Palestinian delegation at the bilateral Middle East peace talks in 1991-1993 and subsequently to the Palestinian Authority.
