Fresh Light on the Syrian-Israeli Peace Negotiations

WALID AL-MOUALEM, Syria's ambassador to the United States since 1990, has been the head of the Syrian delegation to the peace talks with Israel since July 1994 and a member of the Syrian negotiating team since the Madrid Conference of October 1991. He was interviewed in Washington on 15 October, 12 November, and 25 November 1996 by Linda Butler, managing editor of JPS.
