  • Books must not be defaced or marked in any way.
  • Damage to or loss of library materials will be charged at the current replacement cost plus a non-refundable charge.
  • Library items should not be reshelved by users in the Reference Room.
  • Books and other materials left unattended for long periods on the table will be removed by the library staff.
  • Eating, drinking and smoking are not allowed in the Library. This policy was developed to prevent damage to library books and materials from food stains and spills, to keep reading rooms pleasant and clean, and to discourage mice, rats, and other vermin from taking up residence in the libraries.
  • No bags, umbrellas, parcels, etc. except files and books may be brought into the Library. Adequate storage facility is provided at the entrance of the Library.
  • The Library staff has the right to request a user to leave the premise if the user violates the rules.
  • Quiet is required in the Library. Mobile phones and personal stereos should not be used in the library. Users are requested to switch off their cell phones when entering the Library. REMOTE PHOTOCOPY REQUESTS

All requested materials which were previously provided as paper copies, could be delivered electronically. In order to save time and paper, copies of journal articles, book chapters etc. will be posted as a PDF document on a secure server ready for you to download or print. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader (Version 5 or higher) installed to be able to read your document.

You will still request articles and books via the Photocopy Request Form and you will receive an email when your request is ready to collect. The email will contain a URL to where your ecopy is stored and instructions on how to download it. Your article will remain available on the server for a period of 10 days following your e-mail notification.

This will greatly improve delivery time, as opposed to being sent by mail, and you will be emailed immediately once the copy is posted to the server. You can still select to receive your documents in paper form, for pickup at the library, or to be mailed to you, by selecting the option regarding delivery instructions on the request form.
